My name Marc Greenwald and I want to be your guitar teacher. I have been playing, studying and teaching guitar for over 30 years. I have taught literally hundreds of people to play the guitar, many who have gone on to become successful performers and teachers themselves. A couple of my students even went on to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

My students have ranged in age from 6 to 86. Beginners are always welcome, as are people looking to take their playing to the next level.

Your lessons are catered to you. They take into consideration your goals and your skill level. I can teach you to play your favorite songs, but I can also teach you technique, music theory, how to improvise, how to play in a band and lots more.

How much do lessons cost?

Guitar lessons are $20 1/2 hr and $35 for a full hour, usually once a week.

Should I take a half hour or an hour?

It’s really up to you, but I recommend an hour for adults no matter what your skill level. For kids that are just starting out I suggest a half hour.

What Styles Do You Teach?

I have played everything from Punk to Jazz. I started out as a kid playing acoustic guitar, a lot of folk music. I’ve played a lot of blues and a good amount of classic rock. I even played in a Reggae band for a couple of years. I am not a classical guitarist, and to be honest shredding is not my thing, but other than that I can help you to play just about anything.

How long does it take to learn guitar?

Of course that is a loaded question because the answer is FOREVER! A dedicated musician spends their entire life learning to play. The truth is that there is always more to learn. That’s one of the things that I love about music. If you get bored that means it’s time to work on something new.

Another answer could be that it depends on you. If you work hard, practice and follow my directions, you will see results very quickly and that success will inspire you to keep going! The truth is that I can’t teach you anything. I can only show you how to teach yourself. You have to do the work…you have to do the practice.
